Ewen
Cameron is an associate counsel with MacKenzie Fujisawa LLP.
Ewen
has had over 20 years of experience in Private Corporate Commercial
Practice and Real Estate Law. He has advised corporate clients
from start up through to investor and public financing.
Ewen’s clients include businesses specializing in: software
development, internet sales, private and public education,
film and multi-media schools, medical research & pharmaceutical
distribution, real estate brokerage and franchising, transportation,
engineering, logging, retail, hotel, restaurant, food manufacturing,
advertising, back country recreation and travel. He advises
entrepreneurial clients on: risk reduction, strategic and
estate planning and value-driven problem solving.
Ewen’s
transactional experience includes: incorporations, partnership
and shareholder agreements, joint ventures, employment law,
shareholder disputes, intellectual property protection and
transfers, business acquisitions, re-organizations and sales,
franchise agreements, purchase and leasing of specialized
equipment (i.e. helicopters & recreational vehicles) and
the purchase and mortgaging of ships.
Ewen’s Real Estate law practice extends from the purchase,
sale, and financing of industrial, commercial, recreational
and residential lands, to re-zoning and development including
condominium developments throughout municipalities in the
Lower Mainland and Whistler. In the commercial real estate
sector he has acted for Landlords and Tenants in drafting
and negotiating office, shopping centre, and industrial leases
as well as assignments and mortgages of First Nations property.
In strata development Ewen has acted for strata councils in
statutory interpretation, by-law drafting and disputes and
debt collection.
Ewen has extensive experience in the Real Estate Brokerage
industry having incorporated the Real Estate Brokers’
Association of British Columbia and has represented brokerage
companies on an ongoing basis including their dealings with
The Real Estate Council of B.C. and Real Estate Boards in
B.C. on Real Estate Act interpretation, disciplinary and reporting
issues, contract interpretation and drafting, and drafting
and advising on agent’s employment contracts. Ewen has
acted for Real Estate salespersons on a variety of issues
including errors and omissions, contract drafting and interpretation,
recovery of commission and disciplinary matters.
